Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026 · Prototype version
Prototype notice. These terms apply to the legaltech prototype. Production terms will replace this document at launch. Nothing in this document should be interpreted as legal advice; consult your own counsel before relying on any language here.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using legaltech ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Prototype status
The Service is currently a prototype. Expect breaking changes, data loss between major versions, and periods of unavailability. The Service is not certified, indemnified, or warranted for production use. Do not enter real client data.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secret. You're responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent access controls.
- Don't upload malicious content or violate others' rights.
- Don't use the Service to violate applicable law (including export controls, privacy law, or rules of professional conduct).
5. Your data
You retain all rights to data you submit. We process it to operate the Service and under the Privacy Policy. We encrypt PII at rest using AES-256-GCM envelope encryption per tenant.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, design, and documentation, is owned by us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it during your subscription.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. The Service does not provide legal advice; outputs (including AI-generated text) require review by a qualified attorney.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. On termination, your access ends. We'll retain data per the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notice. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where legaltech is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
